The Empowering Careers Virtual Job Fair is seeking a highly strategic and results-oriented Project Manager, Overall to lead our second virtual job fair! In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of the event, ensuring it runs smoothly, achieves its goals, and delivers a valuable experience for job seekers, employers, and all stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop a comprehensive project plan for the virtual job fair, defining scope, timeline, budget, and success metrics.
- Identify and manage project risks proactively, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the event, aligning them with the organization’s overall mission.
- Lead brainstorming sessions and workshops to develop creative solutions and strategies for the fair.
Project Management:
- Break down the project into manageable tasks and milestones, assigning ownership to team members (Marketing, Events, Data Analyst, etc.).
- Manage project resources effectively, including personnel, budget, and technology.
- Utilize project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) to track progress, manage dependencies, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress, address roadblocks, and ensure clear communication across all departments.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders (sponsors, vendors, participants, internal teams) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project updates effectively.
- Secure buy-in from stakeholders for key decisions and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Evaluation and Reporting:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation plan to measure the success of the virtual job fair.
- Analyze data and key metrics to assess project outcomes and identify areas for improvement for future events.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing project performance and recommendations for future iterations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing complex projects, preferably in the events or marketing industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and exceeding expectations.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana) and communication tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom Google Meet).
