The Empowering Careers Virtual Job Fair is seeking a strategic and experienced HR Lead to join our team! In this crucial leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions related to the virtual job fair, ensuring a smooth and successful experience for both staff and participants. You will lead a dynamic team and play a vital role in attracting top talent, managing the recruitment process, and fostering a positive work environment for the entire virtual fair team.
Responsibilities:
HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy specifically for the virtual job fair, ensuring all HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the event’s overall goals.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of all temporary staff hired for the project.
- Establish clear communication channels and maintain positive working relationships with all team members.
- Manage HR budgets and resources dedicated to the virtual job fair.
Recruitment and Talent Management:
- Lead the recruitment process for all volunteer positions associated with the project.
- Collaborate with the Virtual Recruiting Manager on defining candidate profiles and ensuring a successful recruitment campaign.
- Oversee the onboarding and training of all virtual job fair staff, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Conduct performance reviews for volunteers and provide ongoing feedback and support.
Volunteer Management:
- Develop and oversee a volunteer recruitment strategy for the virtual job fair.
- Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to manage the volunteer application process, training, and scheduling.
- Ensure volunteers have a positive experience and contribute meaningfully to the virtual job fair’s success.
- Recognize and appreciate the contributions of volunteers.
Compliance and Administration:
- Ensure all HR policies and procedures are followed throughout the virtual job fair, including temporary staff contracts, compensation, and benefits (if applicable).
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records for all temporary staff and volunteers.
- Address any employee relations issues that may arise during the virtual job fair.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR leadership, preferably within a fast-paced and event-driven environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing temporary staffing processes and volunteer programs.
- Strong understanding of employment law and best practices in talent acquisition, onboarding, and performance management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met effectively.
- Proficiency in HR information systems (HRIS) and other relevant project management tools.
