Carbonless Innovation, the innovation advisory arm of a fast-growing decarbonization-related advisory and investment platform is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic professional to grasp the opportunities ahead of us and take our activities to the next level.

As the Head of the business unit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and overseeing the execution of our Carbonless Challenge initiatives, working with industry leading corporate partners and government agencies. You will be expected to not only engage, but be comfortable with and experienced in dealing with C- and Director-level individuals as a peer, not as an account manager. It is critical that you arrive with existing relationships and significant experience in delivering the kind of services Carbonless provides. We are looking for someone that can hit the ground running, add immediate value, bring instant impact and implement best practices into our existing operations and projects.

  • This job is remote, but ideally based either in the UAE, Thailand, India or Singapore, due to upcoming projects and future plans
  • Flawless spoken English and top-grade writing skills are critical to the job, any other language is a plus, with Cantonese, Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi all considered a big plus.
  • As we are looking for an entrepreneurial individual, this is a low-base, high upside type opportunity
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel when required for planning, meetings and execution (maximum 25% of the time).

Responsibilities:

1.Program Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute innovation programs, most typically our Carbonless Challenge format such as www.carbonless.asia/challenge.
  • Ability and experience in managing all aspects of program coordination including partner & vendor management, creative development, budgeting, scheduling, and on-site supervision, all in a resourceful manner.
  • Work with our partners’ teams with a combination of leadership and collaboration to ensure seamless program execution and exceptional experience.

2.Account Management:

  • Nurture and maintain relationships with our partners that we don’t simply consider as “key accounts” and “clients”, but allies in achieving our shared goals and mission.
  • Act as the main point of contact for our partners, ensuring timely communication, addressing concerns, and resolving issues effectively, always in a world-class manner.

3.Startup Engagement:

  • Develop strategies and initiatives to provide an exceptional and professional experience for startups engaging with Carbonless.
  • Coordinate startup sourcing, manage their registrations, lead the shortlisting process, scheduling of interviews and business matching with our partners
  • Manage pitching competitions and processes

4.Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with colleagues, external partners, advisors, mentors, vendors, media and public sector stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and successful project execution.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and oversee the delivery of services.

5.Strategy Development:

  • Develop comprehensive program strategies to enhance value creation, attract partners, startups, media, sponsors, and investors.
  • Identify new opportunities for platform expansion and differentiation to stay ahead of market trend and keep delivering on our mission.
  • Meticulously analyze feedback to measure the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven improvements.

6.Partnership & Sponsorship:

  • Be part of onboarding new partners and sponsors for existing and new initiatives.
  • Develop meaningful propositions and packages that are relevant, unique and attractive for leading industrial players, government agencies, investment firms and respected NGOs and build long-term partnerships.
  • Provide exceptional account management to partners and sponsors, ensuring their expectations are met and delivering high value consistently.

7.Management:

  • Have experience in managing and building a small, but highly efficient team between 1-20 team size
  • Be a humble, inspired and inspiring leader
  • P&L management and responsibility with experience in growing businesses and business units

  • An entrepreneur-in-the-making or former entrepreneur that knows what it takes to build a business from scratch with limited resources and is not only ready to roll up the sleeves, but has those sleeves rolled up by default;
  • At the same time, the ideal individual knows what “world-class” means in the corporate, tech and investment worlds and has the experience, tools and industry tricks to deliver on that quality.
  • Being interested in “sustainability” is not enough, having an unwavering commitment to it for the long run is what we are looking for.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing innovation programs, whether at consulting firms, accelerators, incubators, VCs or in-house.
  • Experience in sourcing startups globally along with the industry tricks and network that allow that to happen efficiently and successfully.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with the CEOs of a Fortune 500 company’s and of a one year old startup with the same ease.
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills with a track record of managing key accounts and ideally with existing, positive industry connections.
  • Excellent organisational and project management capacity, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, partners and clients.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various digital tools and technologies for content creation, communication and project management.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to address issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing priorities.
